Move over wine. Get a natural high.

How many natural highs are there in life?

Joggers sometimes experience it … Runner’s High.
A fit of uncontrollable giggles … Laughter High.
The euphoric feeling after an act of kindness … Helper’s High.

Here’s another natural high that’s worth chasing.

The high of nailing that presentation.

We all know that certain presentations or speeches can be absolutely pivotal in your career. They could be your ‘sliding doors’ moment.

You could win some important business.
You may get a big project signed-off.
It could be a springboard onto a trajectory for promotion.
Or simply gain some well-earned praise.

It’s at these moments of truth in your career where that Big Presentation is so important.

Nail it and enjoy a natural high. An intense moment of joy. It’s a reward for your hard work which could light a path to a brighter future.

Technically speaking, it would be recognised as an Achievement High. But whatever it’s called, it’s worth chasing.

We should all do whatever we can to experience these types of highs on a regular basis.
It means we’re experiencing successful moments in our career.

There is so much you can do to improve your chances of nailing that presentation. From:

  • Creating the best structure and flow

  • Reducing nervousness and improving your confidence

  • Injecting a little humour

  • Winning over your audience

  • Wrapping up with impact

  • … And lots more.

I think it’s worth investing some time and effort to improve your chances of success during pivotal career moments, and experiencing that high.

Don’t worry, you can’t overdose.
